Conjugation in the Preterite
You learned the conjugation or regular ar, er, and ir verbs last year in Spanish 2. You have also learned the forms of most irregular verbs. For your reference, a preterite verb conjugation chart is available. Sheet 1 has the regular endings and sheet 2 contains the irregulars.

Words that Signal the Preterite
ayer = yesterday
anteayer = the day before yesterday
anoche = last night
el otro día = the other day
entonces = then
esta (mañana/tarde/noche) = that morning/afternoon/night
el (la) ______ pasado (a) = last _________
hace + time period = time period ago
ayer por la (mañana/tarde/noche) = yesterday morning/afternoon/evening
